Hayfield/Schaeffer Academy improves to 3-3
The Hayfield girls basketball team defeated Lanesboro 61-43 last week.
The game was tied 13-13 with nine minutes left in the first half before Hayfield/Schaeffer Academy went on a 26-10 run before halftime.
“We shot the ball pretty well tonight. Anytime we can hit double digit three-pointers as a team we will take that,” Hayfield Head Coach Kasey Krekling said. “We were a little sloppy with the ball, but that will happen after an 11 day break from playing a game. It is nice to even our record at.500 for the season and hopefully we can have a winning record going into Christmas break with a win on Friday.”
For Hayfield Maggie Hansen had nine points, Jenna Christopherson had 23 points, Avi Alexander had one point, Gabby Buehler had two points, Betsy Gillette had 10 points and Lily Morrisey had 16 points in the win.
