Byron gymnastics beats Two Rivers, Stewartville

The Byron gymnastics team defeated Two Rivers on the road last week 139.45 to 106.225.

Byron swept the top three places in every event.

In the vault, Olivia O’Brien came in first with a score of 9.1. Sydney Portner scored a 9.025, and Norah Brown came in third with a 8.975.

For the bars, O’Brien scored a 8.55, Portner got a 8.35, and Brown scored a 8.25.

In the beam, Portner scored a 9.4, Ella Ott scored a 8.675, and O’Brien scored a 9.575.

For floor, Portner scored a 9.325, O’Brien scored a 9.1, and Ott scored a 8.65.

For the all-around Portner scored a 36.1, O’brien scored a 35.325, and Ava Mertesdorf finished in third with a score of 33.325.

Byron also defeated Stewartville last week 138.7 to 118.85.

In the all-around Portner scored a 36.125, O’Brien scored a 35.575, and Ott scored a 34.175.

For vault Portner scored a 9.275, O’Brien scored a 9.125, and Ott scored a 8.85.

In the bars Portner won with a score of 8.625, and O’Brien came in second with a score of 8.4.

Byron swept the beam event, with Ott winning with a score of 8.875, Portner came in second with a score of 8.8, and O’Brien came in third with a score of 8.75.

For floor, Portner scored a 9.425, O’Brien scored a 9.3, and Ott scored a 9.0.
