Byron girls basketball advances to state title game
The Byron girls basketball team is one win away from a trip to the state tournament, after defeating Northfield, and Winona in the first two rounds of the tournament.
In the first round of the playoffs, Byron defeated Winona 69-37, with Madison Ohm leading the team with 32 points, and Kendra Harvey who had 22 points in the win.
Taylor Matter had three points, and Kayla Stork, Ella Nelson, Carly Halder, Alyse Ayen, Raegan Kelm, and Taylor Seeger had two points.
In the second round of the playoffs, Ohm had 17 points, Harvey had 12, Seeger had 10 points, and Stork and Nelson had six points.
Byron is set to face off against Stewartville in the Section 1AAA championship at the Mayo Civic Center on Friday at 6 p.m.
