After an eight-year hiatus Mantorville Farms is back online.
Past customers were given a sneak peek for the site’s soft opening. “I’m so glad you’re back!” one happy customer replied. “When you were open, I really liked sending a gift from Minnesota to family and friends who moved out of state. I love that it’s labeled from Mantorville which is so close to where I live! And that you will gift wrap it and mail it directly to them is less work for me! Yay!”
Mantorville Farms owner Terry Eckstein needed to close the store in 2017 when his national recruiting business demanded most of his time. And, also an author, he wanted to devote more time to writing. Last December he released his third family-friendly dog book, Thomas: Hubbell House Adventures. Eckstein is currently working on his first novel for a brand-new series. It has the same characters from the Thomas books but contains more action and intrigue. Now life has taken an abrupt turn, Eckstein has more time and he decided it was time to reopen the store.
The Mantorville Farms store and Eckstein’s books will have a fun connection. Several items for sale at the online shop are, or will be, mentioned in the books… chocolate, coffee, coasters, prayer rugs… Whatever the connection, most of Mantorville Farms products are made in Minnesota by small vendors and artisans. Eckstein and his team want to support small businesses. They care about their customers and the earth. Whenever possible they use green products, like biodegradable packing peanuts. Mantorville Farms coffee is certified fair trade and organic.
“We pray a lot and ask God for guidance,” Eckstein said.
He said they don’t have all their products online yet. “The technical side has been more difficult than it was eight years ago. It’s frustrating.” He thought the store would be up and running much sooner. Still, he added, there are popular items to choose from, and they wanted to open the store in time for Christmas shoppers.
The Mantorville Farms creative team has been busy making a new logo and charming coffee labels with fun Minnesota-themed names like Loony Bin, Northern Lights, Minnesota Nice, Moose Magic, Minnesota Mello, and something we could all use——Mood Mender!
