Angie Richards asks for voters’ support

To the Editor:

Dear Kasson-Mantorville community, I am expressing my gratitude for the tremendous support you have shown me. It has been my honor to represent the communities of Kasson and Mantorville as a School Board Member for the past eight years.

I am writing to ask for your continued support as I run for the special election (two-year term) on the Kasson-Mantorville School Board.

School Board positions are four-year terms for a reason, it takes impactful board members years to become knowledgeable and effective at board work. As the only candidate with board experience running for the two-year term, I will continue to make an immediate impact for K-M Students, Staff and the Community. As well as provide mentorship to the new members joining the school board.

For 8 years, I have brought positive leadership to Kasson-Mantorville schools with a focus on:

1. Doing what is best for students

2. Supporting teachers and staff

3. Empowering families and community

My experience serving on the K-M School Board touches every leadership role available — Board Chair, Clerk, and Treasurer. I have served as the Community Education representative, as well as, chaired committees for the Personnel, Finance and Student Activities groups. This experience benefits our school district and leverages the significant knowledge I bring to the board.

I am proud that Kasson-Mantorville Schools are graduating students who are college, career, and life ready. Ensuring that these students are armed with both the academic and soft skills — critical thinking, time management, emotional intelligence, teamwork — we know are so important to be successful in life.

I am proud of the Commitment to Excellence — for our students, for our staff, and for the community.

During my eight years on the board, my leadership has focused on the academic success and social emotional well-being of students.

I am proud of the excellent teachers and staff we have at Kasson-Mantorville. And that the school board supports these employees with the vision to be recognized as the premier district in which to teach.

I am proud of the fiscal responsibility of the school district. During my tenure on the board, I have worked diligently to utilize your tax dollars wisely and I assure you I will continue to do so in the future. My role on the school board is to represent and serve you — our community.

I am proud to be the voice for students. The teachers have a strong voice through their union; I believe the Kasson-Mantorville School Board needs to remain the voice for students.

I am committed to the children in our community, and I humbly ask for your vote on November 8th.

Go KoMets!

Angie Richards
