Kimberly Rose Lewis, 61, Kasson
Kimberly Rose Lewis, age 61, of Kasson, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Kim was born August 23, 1961, in Rochester, to John and Ivadell (Eberhart) Lewis. She grew up in Mantorville and attended Kasson-Mantorville High School. At a young age, Kimberly’s mother became unable to care for the family so Kim began to help with those responsibilities.
She worked for the Mayo Clinic for 20+ years as a health information management specialist. If you knew Kim, you knew her life revolved around her family and close friends. She was someone who devoted her life to her family. Kim loved to attend all sorts of events for her children and grandchildren, everything from concerts to sporting events, she would be there to support them.
Holidays in the family were such a special time and she took them very seriously, from decorating the entire tree (front and back), to hiding Easter baskets for all the family to find. Whether it was pumpkin carving or a family birthday, she would always make the time spent together turn into many memories.
She loved to sew, even sewing blankets for family and friends also even clothing. Kim enjoyed the outdoors as camping and fishing were some of her hobbies.
She was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan. She served on the VFW Auxiliary in Mantorville where she did serve as the president. She would care for the cemetery where she would often work with the flowers to ensure the grounds remained beautiful and peaceful for those who would visit.
Kim was someone who from an early age worked hard and always cared about her family and countless friends, even ensuring those who didn’t have plans during the holiday season were included in hers. Sundays were always set aside for time spent with her family. Kim cherished her family and was always so proud of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ivadell; and her life partner, Randy L Poffenberger.
She is survived by her loving family including daughters, Lisa (Tim) Ripley of Kasson, (Brandon, Bryan and Collin), Kassie (Lee Giorno) Poffenberger of Kasson, (Logan and Westen), Krissie (Jason) Poffenberger of Mantorville, (Addison and Jordyn), Kelcie (Justin) Baker of Kasson, (Aubree, Coltyn, Delani and Graysi), also surviving are her siblings, Fred (Renee) Copley of Morris, Steve (Donna) Copley of Hoyt Lakes, Jeff (Wendy) Copley of Rushford, and Luellen (Punky) Lewis of Rochester; as well as several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Kimberly’s life was held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes in Kasson (801 7th St SE Kasson MN 55944) with Pastor Pete Wyttenbach officiating.
