Bobby Dale Sendle, 79, West Concord

Bobby Dale Sendle, 79, of West Concord, died Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

He was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma on July 3, 1943 to Dasha La Rue (nee Wilson) and Joe Wesley Sendle. After his mother's death he went to live with his grandparents in Oklahoma. Next he went to an orphan's home in Oklahoma. Finally he went to live with his aunt and uncle in Richmond, California. He attended Richmond High School. Then he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1961 and received his GED. While in the Marines he was a Golden Gloves champion, held a Brown Belt in Karate and was in the Military Police.

He married Virginia Mae Tuttle, August 5, 1963, in Honolulu, Hawaii. They lived in Hawaii and San Diego, California while he was in the Marines.  In 1964 they moved to Bloomington, Minnesota where he worked at Bloomington High School.

In 1965 they moved to Colorado and lived there until 1974. They had two children, Linda and Daniel. He first worked as an insurance agent for Bankers Life and Casualty.

His career changed as he worked at Arapahoe County in Colorado as a jailer, deputy sheriff, and a Lieutenant in charge of investigation. He received various law enforcement training degrees and went undercover in the MIG unit out of Denver, Colorado. In 1974 they moved to Albany, Minnesota where he worked at Kraft Foods.

Next they moved to West Concord, Minnesota where he was Chief of Police for 20 years. In addition, he was co-owner of the West Concord Enterprise and Claremont News, and Ginny's Drive-In.  He was also the West Concord Citizen of the Year in 1999.  After his retirement from police work, he worked as a Private Investigator for Spriggle Investigations. He next worked part-time for Sterling State Bank as a bank courier and Dodge County as a court deputy. He retired again in 2010 and he and his wife went to Arizona for five months during the winter.

He enjoyed fishing, gambling, teasing everyone, joking with friends, and playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors are his wife, Virginia; daughter, Linda Sendle of West Concord, MN; son, Daniel of Waterville, MN; one (l) grandson, Logan Sendle, three (3) granddaughters, Kailee Sendle, Julia Kiefer, and Shannon Kiefer; one brother, Billy Joe Sendle of Fairfield, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dasha LaRue Sendle; and father, Joe Wesley Sendle and sister-in-law, Pat Sendle.

A Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel on Wednesday January 18th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at West Concord Historical Society on Thursday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Funeral services will be held January 19, 2023 at 10:30 AM at West Concord Historical Society with Pastor Chad Christensen officiating.  Interment with military honors by the Countywide Funeral Detail will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord Township.
