Wildcat boys split the week
FARIBAULT — Dodge County took a big stride toward earning home-ice advantage for next month’s Section 1A boys hockey quarterfinals. With the top three teams, Northfield, New Prague and Albert Lea, all but locked in, the Wildcats and the Faribault Falcons appeared to be the top teams in line for the fourth and fifth seeds. And with a 4-1 win at the Faribault Ice Arena on Tuesday, the Wildcats have earned that head-to-head advantage over the Falcons when it comes time to seed the 11-team section.
On Saturday, the Dodge County boys lost to Luverne, 9-1, at Four Seasons Arena. The Wildcats are 10-6-0 overall.
