It was a winning week for local girls’ basketball teams

Local girls’ basketball teams chalked up a winning week as Hayfield won all three of their games, Byron and Triton each won their two games and Kasson-Mantorville split with one win and one loss.

Byron girls win the week

Byron girls were sharp on the court last week. On Tuesday, January 17, the girls took down Lake City, 59-42. Keeping the “mo” going, the Lady Bears dominated Winona Cotter, 63-40, on Saturday, January 21.

Hayfield girls grab three-win week

The Lady Vikings were awesome on the hardcourt last week, stringing three consecutive wins. On Tuesday, January 17, the girls dominated Faribault Bethlehem Academy, 53-32. On Thursday, Hayfield handled Maple River, 60-34, and on Saturday, the Lady Vikes outlasted Rushford-Peterson, 56-52.

Lady KoMets win one,
lose one

Kasson-Mantorville girls earned a split decision last week. On Tuesday, January 17, the KoMets were overwhelmed by a good Goodhue team, 67-26. Saturday’s action saw the Kasson-Mantorville kids outlast Dover-Eyota, 49-45.

Triton girls win the week

Triton’s girls team played a flawless week on the hardcourt. On Tuesday, January 17, the Lady Cobras topped Blooming Prairie, 44-39, on the road. Saturday’s action culminated in a Triton 73-50 victory over St. Charles.
