Livingston honored with paver at Triton Veterans Day program

Veteran, Dodge Center resident, Legion member and Triton school bus driver David Livingston was honored last week as the recipient of a paver at the Triton Elementary School Veterans Day Program.

Each year the school’s Veterans Day committee selects a veteran from within the Triton community to purchase a paver in their honor for the Dodge Center Veterans Memorial. The purchase is made possible through the Triton Hero Program.

Livingston served in the United State Air Force. He began his military service being sworn in at Max Conrad Field in Winona and was then sent to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Tex., for basic training and technical school.

Following training, he was first sent to Lookout Mountain Air Force Station in Los Angeles as a member of the 1352nd Photographic Group where he worked as a Motion Lab specialist. While at this station he was promoted to Airman First Class.

When his military service was completed he returned to Dodge Center where he began dairy farming and later moved into the beef business.

In addition to his Legion activities, Livingston has been very active in the Dodge Center Lions Club and was chosen as Citizen of the Year.

Since 2011 he has been a member of the Triton community serving in the Transportation Department where he has “faithfully and safely brought our students to and from school, field trips, and activities,” said teacher and committee member Marit Lang in presenting Livingston with the award.
